The “Asia Group” is a private, informal discussion forum for women military and economic security professionals. The objective is to broaden the perspectives and contacts of women in the Asia security policy community. The membership is limited to women experts on all aspects of Asia security matters. Membership is open to all nationalities and journalists. The discussion is off-the-record.

The organizers of Asia Group are Mindy Kotler (Asia Policy Point) and Barbara Wanner (East-West Center). The discussions are held over “tea” on Sundays at a member's home.

The Asia Group tries to meet approximately every six weeks and features a brief presentation by woman professional on her current work or research. Recent speakers include, Evelyn Farkas (Senate Armed Services Committee), Yuki Tatsumi (Stimson Center), Katy Oh (Institute for Defense Analyses), Emily Goldman (University of California, Davis), Elizabeth Guran (Government Accountability Office), Chia-Hui "Emily" Yuan (Cross-Strait Interflow Prospect Foundation, Taiwan), and Masako Ikegami-Andersson (Center for Pacific Asia Studies, Stockholm University.

If  you are interested in adding your name to our membership list, please email us with your name, title, and full contact information. Our list is only used to contact our members and never shared with any other organization.
