FOURTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON JAPANESE INFORMATION
In 1995, as part of its mission to study Japanese information policy and access to Japanese information, the Japan Information Access Project volunteered to be the North American liaison for the Fourth International Conference on Japanese Information in Science, Technology, Industry and Business that was held in Newcastle, England, September 4-8, 1995. The Project identified participants in the United States and Canada, edited papers, and coordinated logistics with the Newcastle organizers. The Project also organized a Trans-Atlantic Working Group on Access to Japanese Information that held its first meeting at the conference. The Project received no compensation for its efforts nor reimbursement for its expenses.
